Welcome to Episode 17 of Intuitive Queens podcast from your Intuition Queen.
My name is Mara and I have created this podcast to be inspired by the stories of my guests and how they overcame fears, limiting beliefs, tragedies and obstacles and managed to find their purpose following their intuition.
My hope is that you will resonate with one or all of them and their story will get you to take-action to change your life, and finally go after your dreams.
In this episode I am Interviewing a friend, her name is Linda McLean, she is a Canadian singer, songwriter and author.
We met at the beginning of the year on a workshop and something clicked between us and that’s why I have asked her to be one of my guests.
I believe her story can resonate with so many, even if you are not singers and authors.
Linda tells us how she started writing songs late because she never thought of being good at it.
Her career started as a theatre actress and teacher.
In one of her lessons, a student that had gone through major traumas started talking and Linda was contacted by the therapist that was following the girl advising to continue doing what she was doing.
That’s when Linda decided to go back to study drama therapy and that’s what showed her writing skills and made her realise she could write and sing songs.
Linda tells us about her struggles with self-worth and self-confidence, a lot of which were the results of the relationship with her parents, mainly her mother and how creativity helped her heal her.
Fast forward a little and Linda, who finally takes courage, starts to take action that brings her to be signed up with a recording deal and that’s how her career takes off and she becomes successful.
However, the shadows of not feeling good enough, being an impostor were always there.
Linda talks in details about the beginning and how everything unfolded, the relationship with her parents and sisters and also her ex-husband, current husband and her kids.
Her life has been a rollercoaster of emotions and discovering of herself which brought her to understand only recently that she is the most important person in the room.
In a workshop that sentence stuck with her. It took her a while to understand and feel the meaning of it.
Once she got it, she decided to write a book about it which is the book she is currently working on.
Linda talks about healing, childhood traumas, an abusive relationship that broke her first marriage, healing the relationship with her kids and a lot more.
Her story is so rich and I am sure a lot of you will resonates with part of all of her story.
